Cowboy Boot Fit and Size Guide

THE RIGHT FIT

We’re passionate about boots and finding the right fit. Did you know that most people have one foot slightly smaller than the other?

That’s why different lasts, leathers, lacing systems, and footbeds can all affect how a boot feels. From cushioning levels to width adjustments, every variation brings diversity to sizing and fit.

With the right size, your boots should be comfortable from the start and only get better with wear.

To ensure your boots are ready to go everywhere life takes you, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • When checking the fit, there should be a slight lift in the heel and enough room to slide a finger behind your heel.
  • Leather will stretch slightly across the instep but won’t grow in length.
  • Some brands include extra insoles or removable inserts to fine-tune fit.
  • Try on both feet, and shop later in the day when feet may be slightly larger — this helps avoid boots that are too tight.

A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO MEASURE YOUR FEET

  1. Step 1: Trace your foot on paper and measure heel to toe. Do both feet and use the longer measurement.
  2. Step 2: Measure the widest part of your foot. Width often matters as much as length.
  3. Step 3: Compare your measurements to our conversion chart (US, UK, EU). If unsure, call us — we’re glad to help.
  4. Step 4: When trying boots at home, stand and walk around on carpet with the socks you plan to wear.
